“One of Us, One of Them“
For an episode that started so strong, it ended very weak. I don’t know what to think about this weeks episode. According to IO9, Heroes is suffering from budget short falls. The epic scenes that should have included Claire, Hiro, and Peter, were all cut back due to budget constraints. Read more about the budget cut backs here.
The first draft of the script, from a production standpoint, was very big. It had the bank robbery more-or- less as it currently exists. It also had a Claire/Meredith scene, which currently occurs in a cargo container. This scene originally took place in a deserted warehouse where Claire was surrounded by fire. The Hiro/Ando/Daphne scene, which currently occurs in a German movie theatre, originally took place on a train traveling through India, complete with Hiro and Ando on the roof of the train and Ando nearly falling out the side of a baggage car.
Personally, I loved the first draft of this script. It was a great, incredibly exciting read. I loved the way the bank robbery was written, and the idea that Sylar was to become HRG’s new partner blew my mind. The entire component parts were great – but, collectively, it was also, obviously, too big to be affordable. Beyond that though, the choices we producer’s faced of how to get the budget down became very subjective. The bank robbery was the obvious thing that had to stay because it drove the central story and the key recurring stories for the series– For me, the scripted moment where time freezes and future Peter appears was a key event (it sent a chill down my spine when I first read it.) So the Claire story and the Hiro story were what had to be attacked.” - Beeman
The episode just really fell off from the first two chapters of this season. Bennet got his new partner, who turns out to be none other than Sylar. (yeah wtf?) Granted, I really like Sylar’s character, so it’s cool to see a flipflop. Can he be trusted? of course not. Anyway, Bennet and Sylar are sent after the four villains that escaped from level 5. let me remind you, these villains are suppose to be hardcore. They shouldn’t be easily stopped and I thought that they would be major pieces of the plot this season. I was wrong. Apparently, these villains are just push overs when it comes to the brute strength of Sylar.
(Future) Peter is still trying to fix all the damage he caused, so he goes to the bank heist and releases (present) Peter and tells him about everything that is going on. The special effects were pretty cool, but nothing special really happened here.
Claire skips school with her real mom and goes to some abandoned Semi truck so she can learn how to fight. Claire’s mom just uses her ability to remove all the oxygen from the room so Claire can realize she’s still scared of Sylar.
Hiro and Ando travel to Germany to confront the speedster and they run into the Haitian.
Boom. that’s it.
Very disappointing episode. I hope they were just closing the initial chapter so they can introduce some actual polt elements next week or this will be a short and boring season for heroes.

adminEntourage episode 4, escape from dragon house, HBO, true blood
.. True Blood knows how to do it. After a subpar third episode, True Blood comes back in true form. The fourth episode of these new series was fantastic. Right when I think i’m going to give up on the series, HBO shows my why they are still the best cable network around. This episode, in my opinion, finally set the tempo that the rest of the season should follow.
Jason is once again a suspect in the murder of a beautiful Bon Temps resident. (Why do they kill off all the hot girls?) Sookie’s grandmother asks her to use her abilities and try to find out who the real killer is in order to clear her innocent brothers name. Jason, who is arrested while carrying V (vampire blood drug) secretly drinks the entire vile and begins suffering dire consequences. Bill agrees to take Sookie to a vampire bar known as Fangtasia in order to investigate these murders further. She is then introduced to Eric (Alexander Skarsgård), the oldest vampire in the region. Sookie makes a good impression on eric by accurately telling him that the bar is about to get raided. Sookie and Bill escape but are pulled over by a cop. Bill uses his mind control to scare the hell out of the officer and they are allowed to leave.
That is a fast paced episode. I hope they keep the pace up for the remainder of the season, i’m tired of this slow episode / fast episode lineup. Give me action! I hope the next episode can keep up the pace.
HBO airs True Blood sundays before Entourage.

adminTV Entourage, episode 4, fire sale, HBO, Season 5
“Fire Sale”
The 5th season is now in full swing. Eric’s script about fire fighters has become a hit in Hollywood. Ari has finally shown interest and wants Vince in as the lead. An unanticipated bidding war temporarily pushes Edward Norton’s company out of the running. Meanwhile, Drama has a guest appearance on “the View”. Unknown to him, the rest of the cast from 5 towns brings their counterparts to the recording. On camera, Johnny has an emotional breakdown and tells his lost love how much he misses her.
Vince and Ari go to all the major studio heads to discuss the script and possible roles to help Vince rebound in his career. Two things are certain, everyone loves Eric’s script, and no one wants to take a chance on giving Vince a lead roll… except for Benji (the dog movie).
Hesitantly, Vince realizes that his best bet for a rebound would be to take a secondary role in this movie and use this role to rebound. Ari agrees with Vince’s idea and they agree in principle to sell the script and get Vince his comeback role.
Eric, excited about selling the script, contacts the writers about the sale. They are sad to hear that Ed Norton has backed out, but agree to let the deal be closed. As the entourage is leaving, Eric receives a call from Ed Nortons rep saying that they want to buy the script for twice what Ari had gotten them.
Like the other episodes of this season, I really liked the tempo the series has gotten back to. I’m glad we’ve gotten into the juice of the season. We’re starting to see the conflict that is developing between Vince and Eric as they try to succeed. Honestly, the boozing Drama was entertaining for a few episodes, but it’s really starting to wear thin. I get that he’s upset, but an entire season of this Chase brother drinking in every episode will definitely get old. I’m also glad to see that Eric is becoming a successful player in Hollywood, even with out any help from Ari.
Will Eric sell the script for Ari or Ed Norton? Will Vince get a role? What is Drama going to do?
I’m really excited to see how this is going to play out.
